Hi guys i am looking for a little advice please.
I have just bought and installed True Image 2016 on my windows 10 laptop and i started TI and it seemed to load up ok.
But now when i want to use the program to make a backup it will not start i get the splash screen asking if i want to run this program, i click on yes the after that nothing happens.
I have tried running as administrator and a reboot but it will just not run
I am using windows 10 64 bit
My old TI 2015 worked ok on windows 10?
You might try a repair on the installation. Boxshot 5 0 8. To do so use Windows Remove Programs feature, find the Acronis program, select it and choose Remove. This will produce a menu from which you will have a repair option.
Hi ive already done that and after the repair TI started the first time then it fails to load after that, im not impressed with TI2016

Run the Acronis removal tool and then install 2016. Located at this link https://kb.acronis.com/content/48668 It says 2015 but it works for 2016.
Ok i have tried that with the removal tool and TI will still not run
My very first full back-up with my External USB 3.0 Western Digital Hard Drive worked after 4 failed tries. I thought I had the program working correctly. When I tried to do another full back-up a few days later the problems began again. I left the program running for 4 hours and it never moved - 0 completed. I completely cleared the back-up (through Acronis) and even created a new back-up destination folder - to no avail. Also, Acronis kept scheduling back-ups even though I excluded that option. This is also when I started having the problems with other flash drives not working correctly, as others have also reported.
This all started after my Acronis True Image 15 would not work (same symptoms as above) when I upgraded my laptop to Window 10.
Thanks for any help you can give!
Hi Thomas
I am quickly loosing patience with True Image 2016 I have spent 3 days now trying to get it to work and the support section of Acronis know less about the product than me
What a shambles
Come on I have tried all your suggestions and nothing works
I am run Windows 10 and purchased Acronis 2016 because could not clone hard drive using 2015
What a mistake spend money and still get same results
Goes all the way to reboot computer comes back to clone screen sets there a while and the reboots back to normal
I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled with same results
Surely you can do better then that
Waist of time
Always win roulette. What is the manufacturer and model of the SSD or Hard Drive inside of your laptop?
Lloyd,
The Clone and Restore functions of True Image must be performed while the machine is booted into another environment other than Windows. When you choose the Clone function, setup the proceedure and choose to continue the operation while you are in the Windows environment your machine is rebooted into a Linux environment to actually perform the clone or restore task.
Your description sounds to me like your machine cannot complete this reboot into the Linux environment to perform the clone task so the function fails and you are returned to the Windows environments True Image application. In that context the application is functioning correctly. What is jacks.
Since these functions, Clone and Recover must be run from an environment other than Windows it is essential that users create the bootable Recovery Media and use it to perform such tasks.
I am including a link that covers the creation of Recovery Media and the recommended usage of the Clone function to assist you with your problem:

http://www.acronis.com/en-us/support/documentation/ATI2016/index.html#27837.html
Please review these instructions, create the bootable Recovery Media and attempt to boot your machine with it. If you have problems post back.
my acronis true image 2015 is not compatible with my windows 10 computer!
i had to uninstall it!
I have made the bootable recovery media as suggested
Computer boots and lets me choose to clone disks
I answer all and program starts
few minutes comes back and say CLONE FAILED
I give up used EaseUSTodo and cloned hard drive
Wasted my money on True Image 2016
I have the same problem as the original poster Edward. I'm also an IT engineer so I've tried everything (I've wasted 3 hours on this).
I have Windows 10 with a Samsung 840 Pro, 2x Segate 2TB in RAID 1, and a HiDPI monitor (Dell 4k). I've installed True Image 2016 builds: 6571 (latest), 6569, 6559. The programs starts it shows the license windows then nothing, it stays in the taskbar but no visible window watsoever!
Here is what I found out: Your application window is probably displayed somewhere outside of the desktop area for 4k monitors (you have some custom UI code there). I tried to change the resolution of my 4k Dell monitor to Full HD and also change the HiDPI scalling randomly. After I rebooted and relauched ATI, the app window did show up. I hope it will stay visible after restarting the PC again, but I'm not very confident.
Cosmin, thank you for your feedback on this problem, please can you submit feedback directly to Acronis Support using the Feedback Tool in the ATIH 2016 GUI with the details of your understanding of the cause here, in particular, with regard to using the program with 4K monitors, HiDPI etc. This is something that the developers need to look at and produce a fix for, as these type of monitors are only going to be used more often.

There are a couple of possibilities here that come to mind.
1) The gui is opening off the screen as mentioned. If you can see Acronis in the taskbar, but clicking on it does not reveal the application on screen, this should be easy to resolve. I have had this happen in Windows with numerous apps and using a meager 22' 5 year old lcd too - not sure why it happens, but I see it a couple of times a month in my office. Once the windows opens off screen, it will continue to do so until moved back in view. However, there is a simple fix and should stay on screen after that.
2) At times, the Acronis database may become corrupted - perhaps do to a hard shutdown while the application is in use - especially if scheduled backups are run in the background and are in progress when abruptly shutdown. Many users who have reported this behavior only need to rename the current database and let Acronis rebuild it and then all is well again. I would look to option #1 first and see if it's as simple as that though and then consider this option instead. Please see this thread about the process.
3) If #1 and #2 don'e resolve it, a clean uninstall using the cleanup tool with Steve Smith's step by step instructions and allowing Acronis to start from scratch may help. If it's really just that it's not displaying on the screen though, try this only as a last opton:
(01). MVP WinPE Builder (02). MVP LogViewer
(03). MVP Google Drive (04). Cleanup Utility
(05). Cloning Correctly (06). Clone vs Backup
(07). Community Tools (08). Contact Support

Am now tearing out what is left of my hair! Am running Acronis TI 2016 on a Win 10 Pro PC (12 Gb of Ram). The TI application would not display old backup schemes (wanted to delete them) and eventually I was getting too many files (Objective was three files per week, each to a different external hard drive). Finally gave up and decided to uninstall and re-install. First installation disk (original installation) would not load. Back to my account and downloaded a build 6571 disk (burnt from the iso file). Same result - the display told me that 'This app can't run on your PC. Check with the software publisher'. (See screen dump attachment) Could not find a solution on any of the forums but I'm hoping that I might get a result here. Sounds like simple problem and I have got plenty of old back ups too! Any clues out there?
Des, it looks like you're trying to run the offline recovery media from windows and are not running the installer.
The offline reocvery media is meant to be booted into from the bios, not from windows. You would normally boot to it by shutting down the computer and pressing F12 (sometimes ESC or F1) at your bios boot screen to get into your one time boot menu. From there, you would pick the CD rom as the boot device and go from there.
If you're looking for the installer, log into your online account and download the installer which will be an .exe executable file (not the .iso which is the bootable recovery media).
Acronis True Image WD Edition provides you with all the essential tools you need to recover your computer system should a disaster occur, such as losing data, accidentally deleting critical files or folders, or a complete hard disk crash. Installation notes:
You need at least one Western Digital hard drive attached in your system to be able to install and run the product.
